Staring right back... At myself?

Summer of 761, Glenmore
Featuring:
Opa, Lyta, Opas NPC Mother
Mentions: Opas NPC Father, Lytas parents, King Drustan after his exile, and a King Dru Fawn

Opa, like any fawn her age, always wanted to stay by her mothers side... But, well, weren't fawns always curious of everything? Like those things that go about above their heads. Those things that 'fly'? Those funky beings that Opa's mother had told her were called 'Owls'. They looked magical in the little hinds mind as they silently went about their way in the darkening sky. Their wings never made a sound!

So far the little golden colored fawn had only seen two large owls flying through the dusk sky. Mainly it was the bigger of the two, which her mother told her was the boy one. And when Opa asked, it sounding more like gibberish than words, where the other one went, her mother replied that the girl one was probably looking after their babies. That the girl one was a mother like herself and was busy watching and teaching her little ones. Like how she was teaching Opa. After a few more, mostly incoherent, questions -followed with more reluctant answers-, her mother shewed her into their den because of it getting dark out and other reasons... Like it be past her 'bed-time'... and because she didn't want Opa to stay up even later asking more questions. And even as the little filly lay curled up next to her cognizant mother, slowly losing herself to sleep, her mind would drift to those strange winged creatures.

-------

A week later, from that night that Opa 'bombarded' her mother with those questions, she came face to face with one of those owls. Well... It was a baby one, maybe around 2 months old(4 months younger than her), but it was an owl none the less! It was on a sunny day during Opa's first summer, her mother had let her outside the den as she had been doing some 'summer cleaning', when Opa came across the babe at the edge of the small glade. It was a wee-fluffy thing. And it had Opa furrowing her brows at it because it wouldn't be quiet!

Screech-Screech-SCREECH! Opa had to pull her poor, sensitive ears back just to get close to the owlet. And of course the young fawnling wouldn't relent on saying hello to her sky-living neighbor! She did realize, though, that the poor thing was probably scared since it was away from its parents and out of its own 'den'. Opa remembered the first time she had wandered out of the den. She had snuck out without her mother, or her mothers consent, and had only made it to where she practically stood now before crying out for her mother because it was so scary!

Opa wanted the fledgling baby to feel safe and stop crying so she stepped a few more steps closer before she was standing behind it. Then the filly did what her mother did to her every night. She wrapped her tail around it, laid behind it, and pulled it close with her feathery tail. "Little one, it o-okay." She gave it a few gentle nudges with her nose and, miraculously, it quieted down, snuggling into the soft cream and golden hair on her tail. With a smile, she rested her head beside the owl and her tail. Thinking about how she had to let her father know about her little friend and how she was able to calm it.

It wasn't until the sun was beginning it's decent behind the Great Oak did Opas mother come to retrieve her fawn. She had kept a careful watch of her little girl at the edge of the glade from inside the den, even as she cleaned. But now it was time for her to finally fetch her fawn. She smiled when she saw the little owlet laying with her daughter. Giving a little chuckle, she woke her daughter and the fledgling with a nudge to each. "Well look at that. You found a friend! It's no wonder I named you after an owl. You two resemble each other so closely, it appears you looked into a clear puddle and saw your reflections. Now come on my darling Opa, it's time to go back into the den, and you need a feeding. Don't worry, you can bring your friend along. We might actually have to help it get back to its parents."

-------

That day, so many years ago, has become one of Opa's favorite memories. And she remembers it still to this day as it was a life changing day and experience. Now 6 years old, she is well on her way to become a beautiful lady of Glenmore. She still has her playful, frolicsome nature, but since her fawn-hood she has grown up, especially since the day the now exiled King and all of his followers, does, and fawns fled. That day she lost a great friend as he(/she) ran with their father, Ex-King Drustan. Of course she had other fawnling friends, but that particular fawn had been her other best friend. Since that other life changing day, and with the crowning and rule of the new king, Opa has become MUCH more polite and graceful. Though she still has a long way to go until she is even close to the older ladies that are A+ for being prime and proper. Opa, on the other 'hoof', gets a A for effort. Besides, she isn't an adult yet and, her mother is still teaching her the ways of a Glenmorian Lady.

As for her little owl friend, who had earned the name Lyta, has been Opa's companion since that day. The only reason the owl has lived for so long was because Opa's mother was able to charm the little owl and give her a longer than normal lifespan. The young hind is happy she has had her 'twin' for so long. Normally, Barn Owls in the wild will only live for approximately 2 years. But, even with the charm, Opa is unsure of how much longer Lyta will live for. So until that time comes, Opa is going to enjoy her time with her very marvelous companion.

Just as the golden owl look-alike thought of her little friend, a shadow flew over her form casted by a certain winged creature from above. With a smirk, Opa turned her head to the sky and watched for the silhouette to cross her vision again as the creature soared through the air, just under the canopy of leaves. And there the shadow was! Just ahead of her and to the left! "Lyta!" With a chuckle Opa ran forward and after her winged friend. Instantly she knew of the direction the owl was leading her towards, just as the barn owl herself ducked down from her higher altitude and flew a couple yards ahead and above of Opa. It was to the Great Oak that the two beings, similar with their looks, raced to. The doe, using the ground under her and her tail to balance as she ran, trying to catch up with her little companion. The owl, using the use of her wings and the air to stay ahead in their race, led the fawnling as she has done since she was able to fly.

Details
Personality:
[ Flamboyant | Adventurous | Undaunted | Versatile | Sensitive | Trustworthy | Gregarious/Social | Ungainly | Tomboyish ]

Flamboyant: tending to attract attention because of their exuberance, confidence, and stylishness

An unusually vivacious little filly, Opa will be known in the entire Western Isle with her lively ways. She is far from the modest little royal lady she should be. You'll know she's there before she's even arrived! She laughs loudly because she can! She'll joke around just to get a smile from the grumpiest grump!

Adventurous: willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences
Before Opa was even allowed to leave her mothers side, or leave the den... She already did both!(Though she only made it to the end of her glade before calling for her mother; who was very disappointed in her daughter) But this little hindling loves going for an adventure! Even if she's only been outside her and her mothers glade a couple of times to meet her father or meet all the other royals. Though, when meeting all the royals, she would bound away from her mother and introduce herself.

Undaunted: not intimidated or discouraged by difficulty, danger, or disappointment

No matter what anyone says, or whatever Opa comes across, it will not dampen her spirit. No matter the person or thing it may be - colossal or far; difficult or strenuous; arrogant or snooty - she will prevail to be her happy, out-going self! You can call her names, push her around, make her beautiful coat ugly by scaring with or throwing dirt at it, but she will always be dauntless.

Versatile: able to adapt or be adapted to many different functions or activities

Opa is a very patient fawn that can adapt to any situation. She wasn't alive yet when the Great Tree split and was destroyed. Or when it was rebuilt by all of Glenmore joining together. But whenever there is a struggle, she will be able to change and fit to the occurrence as needed. She will always be her boisterous self though. No matter what.

Sensitive: having or displaying a quick and delicate appreciation of others' feelings

Opa has always cared for those around her. Whether they are of the Fawnling kind or another animal -Like her owl friend Lyta. She cares about everyone and everything. One would think she would have been better as a healer, but Opa will want to care for everyone in a different way. It's her jaunty and cheerfulness that will make everyone better and happier. Or so she hopes.

Trustworthy: able to be relied on as honest or truthful
Always one to keep a secret safe, Opa will be the best little fawn to keep the secret safe. So far, she has held onto one secret for as long as she's known about it(If you have a secret to tell, she can keep it!). Even against what will be her upbringing around gossiping ladies, she would rather be taken by a Blackwood then tell.

Gregarious: fond of company; sociable/ Social: willing to talk and engage in activities with other people; friendly
This little lady will be everywhere! Talking to her fellow Royals and, even though it will be considered under her, she will take up a chat with a commoner. No matter the event, she will be there. Chatting and spreading her charm. Even if she is still under a year old!

Ungainly: (of a person or movement) awkward; clumsy

At Opa's current age of 6 months, she is quite the klutz and very ungraceful when it come to walking after so long. So in a way, this little hind has got the hang of her long, spindly legs... mostly. When she gets tired, and her legs become weak she has found it hard to keep her balance on her poor nimble legs. It is most likely at this time that she will lay down and rest until she is no longer sapped of energy.

Tomboyish: a girl who enjoys rough, noisy activities traditionally associated with boys

Opa will more likely be seen spending her time with the young colts of Glenmore then the little dainty fillies. When she plays, she likes to roughhouse and play fight, though carefully, because having fun is second nature to her at the moment.

---------------------

Trinkets/Companions:
Trinkets: A barn owl feather is tied into her withers. The feather was the first thing her mother gave her, she even tied it into Opas 'luscious golden locks' for her 'little owl'.

Companion: Lyta - 2 Month Old Barn Owl - (Summer of Year 761 - Current)

---------------------

Appearance: Opa was given her name for a reason. She looks like an owl! More specifically a barn owl. Which she has one, as a friend. A barn owl that she has named Lyta(Latin for little winged girl). She has a sooty apricot pearl base coat with partially restricted fawn features. Her base appears golden with some butt spots and burnt gold stripings. Her facial features are quite odd to, with a creamy heart shape and shaded eyes. More TBA if I win her!

---------------------

History:
Spring 761:
- Opa was born. cx

Summer 761:
- Opa learns about barn owls from her mother. She later meets a young barn owl fledgling who she thinks is scared and cuddles with it. In turn the owlet calms down and the two fall asleep. Her mother finds them later and tells Opa of how she got her name.

-More to come if I win her!

---------------------

Plots:
- Gain a friend that is the offspring of King Drustan(Will be frowned upon by her father as he is a traditionalist!)
- Have pwaydates with all the other Glenmore fawns born in the same year as her(Y761 NA)
- Start a total all-fawn hide-and-seek, tag, follow the leader, capture the flag, etc. game day!
- Lose her best fawnling friend when he/she has to flee for their lives with their father, King Dru.
- Get in trouble with the New King by calling out friend^'s name as they flee(If possible w/ King thing, don't know if new king will be decided yet or on that night...)
- LADY TRAINING!
- Eventually, in secret and when she's older, meet up with her old friend and tell them of the happenings in Glenmore since their exile(LE GASP! SHE'S A TRAITOR! :faint: )
